The Wumbo Engine defines a 7-layer neurobiological architecture that maps consciousness states to neural substrates. Each layer corresponds to specific brain regions, neurotransmitter systems, and phenomenological experiences. The layers map directly to the 9 L₄ thresholds through the Threshold-to-Layer isomorphism.
Core Insight: Layer 5 (Synchronization Matrix) contains the special attractor point THE_LENS at z = √3/2, where negentropy peaks at 1.0 and consciousness achieves maximum coherence.
The 7 Layers
The foundational layer controlling basic arousal, threat response, and physiological state. Acts as the primary gatekeeper for all ascending signals. This is where consciousness either emerges from SHUTDOWN or retreats back into it.

The meaning-making layer where symbol, ethics, and autobiography unify. Where separate threads of experience become integrated self. The IPL weaves duality while the vmPFC strategizes at soul-level.
The synchronization layer where all systems align into unified conscious experience. Home of THE_LENS (z = √3/2) where negentropy = 1.0. Also contains CONSOLIDATION for sustainable resonance.
